Although I must confess to being an accountant, the majority of my career has been spent in the commercial sector which has taken me through a number of roles and sectors. Starting out in the Motor Trade then on to Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Construction and now back full circle to the Commercial Motor Sector.
I have been with the Garenne Group approaching 15 years this September and with Rabeys now just surpassing 3 years, starting out as Financial Controller, then being promoted to Commercial Director and finally I was appointed Managing Director in September 2015.
It’s my aim along with the senior management and staff to move Rabeys forward and build on what is a solid foundation to ensure that we are seen as the premier commercial fleet service provider in the Channel Islands.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family although I do still find those key moments to indulge in football and music.

I first started out my career working Saturday’s with Rabey’s and started working full time in 1986, I signed up under an apprentice scheme to then become a fully qualified mechanic. Once completing 10 years at Rabeys, I set off to travel through Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands and America before finally returning.
When I returned I came back to Rabeys and you can say the rest is history, I am now a Fiat Commercial Sales Manager.
I have been married to my wife, Sara for 20 years; we have two amazing children who are very academic.
My main hobby includes scuba diving which I have taken part in since 1995, logging over 1000 dives.
I attended the Grammar School and after completing my A-Levels in 1995 I started working at Specsavers Optical Group in an administration role. It was there I spent 20 years of my life progressing through the ranks, in varying accounting positions.
I married Agita in 2003, now with two beautiful daughters, as my wife is from Latvia we spend most of our holidays there visiting her family.
I was a keen sportsman at an early age with numerous trips to the UK and further afield, competing in the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada and the 1998 Games in Kuala Lumper, Malaysia.
As we were keen travelers, Agita and I spend our time travelling in Australia, Canada and the US.
My only downside is that I am an avid Spurs fan!
I first started my career in April 1978 at Duques Garage as a tractor and machinery mechanic, not to mention cars and light commercial vehicles. It was in January 1987 when I started working for Rabeys as a commercial vehicle mechanic. I carried out DAF & LDV training in the UK. As I progressed through my career I had been appointed to Workshop Foreman in 1993 where I looked after 18-20 staff. Furthering my career in 1997 I progressed into the service manager role where various training courses on warranty, management and health and safety have been completed.
My interests outside of work include football, riding motorbikes watching GP Racing where I have visited 3 different tracks in Europe and Formula 1.
I was offered a full time position as an apprentice marine engineer at Seaward Marine due to the lack of courses; I wouldn’t have received any qualifications so I moved to Guernsey Bus Limited where I completed my apprenticeship as a commercial vehicle mechanic. I moved onto SGB Plant Hire as a mechanic for several years, after taking a year out to travel and work around Thailand and Australia I took the role of Account Manager back at SGB.
I then took position of Fleet Manager for Island Coachways which involved the management of the fleet of 55 vehicles which included everything from the wash bay, to the health and safety of the premises.
After a short stint away from the trade working as irrigation manager for Stan Brouard, I realized that my heart was in the commercial vehicle trade and started at Rabeys Commercial Vehicles.
My interests involve spending time with my family, boating and fishing.
I was introduced to the motor industry at an early age helping family; it was almost second nature to be smothered in engine oil and smelling of fuel. After completing secondary education I studied Motor Mechanical Engineering at college. It was then I joined the Vehicle Maintenance Unit and was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a fleet of heavy and light commercial vehicles.
On my first visit to Guernsey in 2003, I met my future wife and relocated to the islands a couple of years later. I joined Rabey’s as a forklift technician in 2005 and changed my career plan to become a Service Advisor in 2012. Having broadened my knowledge within the industry, my role developed over a period of time and became Parts Manager in 2015.
I enjoy socialising with friends and spending time away on warm sunny holidays. I am a keen classic mini enthusiast following my passion for motorsport.
